🌿 Philodendron Selloum (Small Plant) Care
Philodendron selloum—also known as Tree Philodendron—is a tropical foliage plant prized for its deeply lobed, glossy green leaves. Young plants stay compact at first, making them easy to care for indoors while they slowly develop their dramatic, mature form.
☀️ Light
Bright, indirect light is best.
Tolerates medium light, but growth may slow.
Avoid direct sunlight, which can burn young leaves.
💧 Water
Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry.
Keep soil lightly moist but never soggy.
Overwatering is the most common issue for young plants.
🌱 Soil
Use a well-draining, nutrient-rich potting mix.
A blend with perlite or orchid bark helps prevent root rot.
🌡️ Temperature & Humidity
Prefers warm temperatures between 65–85°F (18–29°C).
Enjoys moderate to high humidity but adapts well to indoor conditions.
🌼 Fertilizer
Feed lightly during spring and summer using a balanced houseplant fertilizer.
Young plants need less fertilizer—every 6–8 weeks is sufficient.
✂️ Maintenance
Wipe leaves occasionally to remove dust.
Repot only when roots outgrow the pot—small plants prefer being slightly snug.
🐾 Toxicity
⚠️ Toxic if ingested by pets or humans. Keep out of reach.
